Cookie Policy
Last updated: June 24, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how FreeCloudHosting ("we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies such as browser local storage on the website at freecloudhost.net (the "Site"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies and local storage are
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store and send back on later visits. Local storage is a related browser feature that keeps small pieces of data on your device but, unlike a cookie, is not automatically transmitted with every request. Both let a site remember things between page views.
2. Does the Site set cookies?
The Site does not set any first-party tracking cookies of its own. To remember your choices it uses two local-storage items, listed below. These are essential to features you actively use (theming and the comparison tray), stay on your device, and are never sent to us.
3. What we store on your device
| Name | Purpose | Type | Retained |
|---|---|---|---|
| theme | Remembers whether you chose the light or dark theme. | Local storage · essential | Until you clear it |
| fch:compare | Stores the list of platforms you have added to the comparison tray. | Local storage · essential | Until you clear it or empty the list |
4. Analytics
We may use a privacy-respecting analytics tool to measure aggregate, anonymized traffic so we can improve the directory. Depending on the provider, this can involve a cookie or a cookieless measurement method. We do not use analytics to build advertising profiles or to track you across other sites.
5. Advertising and referral cookies
Where advertising is shown, the ad provider may set its own cookies to display and measure ads. Outbound links to platforms may also carry a referral parameter so a provider can attribute a sign-up. These cookies are set by third parties under their own privacy and cookie policies, which we do not control.
6. Third-party cookies
Any cookies you encounter on the Site come from the optional analytics or advertising providers described above, or from third-party platforms once you follow an outbound link. We recommend reviewing the policies of those third parties to understand their use of cookies.
7. Managing cookies and local storage
You are in control and can remove or block this data at any time:
- Most browsers — including Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge — let you view, delete and block cookies and site data from their privacy or settings menu, or from the page-information panel next to the address bar.
- Clearing site data or local storage for this Site will reset your theme choice and empty your comparison list.
- Using private or incognito mode discards this data when you close the window.
Because our two stored items are essential to features you trigger yourself, blocking them does not stop you browsing the directory — it just means those preferences will not be remembered.
8. Do Not Track
Since the Site does not track you across other websites, a browser "Do Not Track" signal has little to act on. Where we use optional analytics or advertising, we aim to respect recognized opt-out signals to the extent required by law.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy if the technologies we use change. The "Last updated" date above reflects the latest revision.
